Arlene Miles
Versatile.
That's how I describe myself and my writing in one word.
I have 30 years' experience in various forms of media with most of it in print magazines, newspapers, and internet copy. I've also dabbled in business-to-business public relations from time to time, as well as publicity for smaller musical acts.
Famous people? I've rubbed elbows with and interviewed a few. Probably the most famous individuals I've written articles about have been former Olympic Bronze Medalist Timothy Goebel and 2009 Men's World Figure Skating Champion Evan Lysaceck.
I've written copy on a wide variety of topics, from such mundane copy as tax increment financing districts and public sewer installations to hope and cope medical features. Specializations? Hmmmm, for the most part I love to write personality profiles and I have spent the last several years writing extensively about home renovation and gardening topics. I have recently added providing web content to my repertoire.
My work has appeared in Parents Magazine, Parenting, Chicago Parent, Boys' Life, Home School Magazine, Family Time Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, and the Daily Herald. Read some of my recent home improvement articles here: http://search.dailyherald.com/results/news/?Query=arlene%20miles.
